The cost of the practice exams are $60, and there are two tests with 100 questions each. After skimming through the assigned readings, I would take test A to see what I knew. That gave me a very good idea of what to focus on. Then a few days before my actual exam, I would take test B and I usually did well. I believe the tests can be saved for a couple of months. I also found it helpful to read the rationales because it would sometimes give answers to actual exam questions. Those practice tests were a lifesaver - I don't think I could have passed the EC exams without them.
Ok, I took my first one today. It's M2RN said. I will add a couple points for you though.
1. You get two tests of 100 questions each.
2. You can only take each exam once. Once you start, you have 2 hours to complete that exam.
3. You have 120 days to take the exams after you pruchase them.
4. As has been mentioned, when the exam is graded, you see the rationales for all of the options, the correct answer and why the others are wrong.
The biggest thing this test did for me was provide a litttle piece of mind that I am ready to test. I purchased these today and will be taking my test next week. In the future I'll probably get take one practice test early and one close to the exam like people suggest.
How this helps.
awwww:o...i thought u can go back and retake them...wow for $60?..and your only allowed to take them once?...kinda discouraging...but i have heard they are worth it...can you go back to the questions?...are they like one question on the screen?..and do they show you the correct questions?...lol..i know its alot but i really appreciate the advice...and its like now that i am officially enrolled i can;t help but feel nervous...i dont even know where to start!..as far as studying..im trying to set a schedule...but i'll get into it eventually...thanx
You can still reference them after taking them, as they can be retrieved for up to 120 days like Coldfoot stated. It saves your response as well as the correct answer. I THINK it is 5 questions per page, but I really don't remember that one. But when you take the actual exam at Pearsonvue it is one per page.
When I studied for the exams I actually had to mark dates on the calendar to study at the library around my husband's work schedule, becasue I had to be out of my house and away from my kids, pets and other distractions.
The practice tests come up with one question on each page while you're taking them, and then when you review them, you can scroll through all 100, top to bottom. :) Sue, they are definitely worth it -- they give you a really good idea of the types of questions you'll see on the real thing.
