OK i'm lil confused about the three essenials of nursing courses. are lpns automatically exempt from taking these courses? or do we test out of them? i've read on here you can take NC before you enroll, is that still true?
Thanks, :)

The only exam an LPN might be able to skip is Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Differences. Depends on how long a student has been an LPN. You can take Essentials of Nursing Care: Health Safety as well as Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse Role before you enroll. This information is on page 9 of the nursing catalog -- lots of information in the catalog, worth the read.
Lunah, do you think i need official approval to take info lit at penn forster? in the email from EC it said i can go ahead and do info lit but didn't say where. should i contact them now? after info lit i'll start getting health safety & transitions outta the way before i enroll.
I don't think EC will officially approve courses for you until you're actually enrolled. However, I've not heard of anyone taking the Penn Foster course and having it turned down for credit.

I was just approved to take the penn foster course but I'm currently enrolled. I emailed my advisor for approval and got a reply message that I was approved.

I did my info lit class at a local community college, and was able to get it approved after the fact. They required the actual syllabus and I couldn't get that without being in the class. So I think you will be pretty safe taking the Penn foster course.
That's what i'm gonna do go ahead and take the course at penn foster get it done and start the other two.
