Good Morning and Happy Easter!
Had my alarm clock set for 10 AM, and was awakened at 9:50 AM by an Amber Alert on my cell phone; it was from a county I have never heard of. Gosh! Deprived me of 10 add'l minutes of sleep! I am having coffee in bed while I try to get my engine going.
I had a heck of a time getting my mind to shut-up last night, and after 2 hours (at 4 AM) of trying various relaxation methods, I sat up for a little while, and took 1/2 of a Xanax; then sort of dozed off and on until 6 AM! Finally I dropped off to sleep, only to have my phone buzz and chirp with the Amber Alert. It sure is louder than my alarm clock, and it deprived me of using the snooze button on my clock! Oh well.
Wonder what I can get Nannie to wear today? I'm thinking of something with Easter colors, but she is so crazy about burgundy these days, I may just go ahead and put something on her that makes her happy. Neither of us has an Easter bonnet, though.
Okay, gotta get going. Hope everyone has a nice day. If I could I would send y'all some of this weather we are having today....83 degrees and sunny!
You know I''ll probably be back here later!
I have to get Nannie up and dressed so we can drive over to BiL and SiL's house for a noontime lunch. It was going to be at 1 PM, but niece has to work this afternoon, so it was moved up in time.
Wonder how my last sentence got moved down to the end of my post?
Good morning and Happy Easter to those that celebrate.
Joe, hope you have a nice day. When I went to church Easter was always packed compared to regular Sundays. I think one of the reasons was people brought along family and guests.
Hope us troubled sleepers sleep better.
The wait for the keys took three hours. They communicate by text so at hour three I texted the Service Advisor for an update. She called five minutes later saying the mechanic had just brought her the paper work and the new keys. Yeah right. She said they had to call their headquarters and get them to somehow to wifi access to the car and turn off the old keys which apparently prevents unethical mechanics from making a key for themselves and selling them to thieves, blah blah blah. Anyway the cost took my breath away. I was expecting about $500 but it was $950 for two keys.
On the way home, I walled work and told them to put me down for an overtime shift that I knew was available on Monday. I originally pass on any overtime, especially since it's my bowling day, but I can't get that much in debt and not take it. Damnit.
But that's yesterday's news and I'm moving on. It's a really nice sunny and warm day here. I'm meeting best friend for lunch one of the resorts on the beach we've been to several times and like.
Have a great day!
Good Easter morning.
Unlike years past, our family is not going out Easter brunch. The grandkids are gone with their dad to California, eldest ds is in Canada with his wife. Youngest ds and his sister don't get along well, and we just didn't get around to making reservations. Last year, someone stole the hitch off of our pickup truck while we were inside the restaurant, which ended up costing like $500 to get replaced. We didn't bother trying to claim in on insurance. But Tweety, have you looking into making a claim on your insurance ? Although in your state, they might jack up your rates.
There was a bit of frost on the roof tops this morning, but it's clear and may get up to 60. Dh brought home some wood chips, so I think we are going to spend our day spreading those.
I was inspired by Dianah's pictures the other day to take some of my own, which I did while jogging yesterday.
This is through one of the parks I go through. Part of the path is lined with Japanese cherry trees.
We don't have many of the pretty homes that Dianah's town seems to have, but we have some cool murals that are painted on the sides of down town buildings:
nursej22, I LOVE the photos! The murals add so much color!
Happy Easter, everyone!
Sounds like good plans for you, Tweety and No Stars and Joe!
We have no plans. The rain has stopped for now, and local mountains copped 1.5 feet of new snow. The little zoo up there is open today (closed yesterday during the snowstorm), I'm sure some of the animals LOVE the snow.
I paid bills last night and then watched a movie on Netflix, The Miracle Club. It was low-key (not a shoot-em-up), and sweet. Then I watched a re-make of Jane Austen's Persuasion; kind of a sassy version, but it was OK. Slept pretty well, which we all know is good, LOL!
Have a good day!
J22, I love those murals!
Happy Easter, everyone! I think our cantata went well. We had a small string ensemble play with us (quite a lot of sound for our small but old and beautiful sanctuary). We used to have much larger attendance for Christmas and Easter but that seems to have tapered off the last few years. Our new director composed the music for this cantata.
Gma got up early and was feeling obstinate so we worried Hubs might not be able to go to church and sing. But she settled down and went back to bed. Twin A could manage if she got up again before we got home, but she didn't.
Had a simple (but good) meal with our little family. And took a nap. Think I will call my sister and brother.
Tweety, I am shocked at how much the car keys were. When we gave my parents' car to my nephew I had lost the keys (and for some reason we only had one set). I had the dealership make a key but without a fob and that was only about $40-50.

Tweety hope you didn't have to wait too long for the new key
Ado hope the internet cable gets fixed soon so you can finish with the taxes
Hi Stars
Busy day yesterday. In the morning took the cat to the vet for another blood test for her thyroid. Then spent some time walking about the arboretum, and later met dad for lunch. In the evening went to check out a possible pickleball game but no one showed, might have been the weather which was a bit cold and windy. Went for a walk then relaxed the rest of the evening
Had problems sleeping, was feeling unusually warm and my mind was unusually active. Got up and took some valerian root and read for a bit and then was able to get back to sleep
Today will do the cooking for the week before church. Thankfully I don't have anything to do at church, expect a pretty big crowd there and at the coffee hour and Easter egg hunt afterwards. Rest of the day will be quieter, will do a little more cooking and try out a chocolate pudding cake recipe. Will also try and check out another pickleball game if I get home from church in time
Will be a bit cooler today, only up to about 50, with rain in the evening
