Hi everyone I'm new to the area I'm 21 yeras old and currently live in Johnson City and I'm interested in getting my LPN but I'm having trouble finding schools in my area. Anyone who could please suggest nursing schools in the Tri-Cities would be of great help! I would love to eventually work in L&D but I'm not sure what if any involvement LPNS have in my area in L&D/ postpartum care. I have heard that some states allow limited postpartum and nursery care while others don't use them at all. Any information you could give on either of these question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!

Hi Emily, Livingston has an awesome LPN program (that is where I went). There is also a LPN program in Crossville. I am not sure about OB if they use LPNs or not. I did some post-partum after I graduated from LPN school, and it is not my cup of tea! I have worked in Nursing homes since I was 16, and that is what I love! Good luck to you!

Tennessee Technology Center has LPN programs during the day and also in the evening. The number there is 547-2590. The program is hard but very good.
When I was at JCMC, they used LPNs in postpartum and also to scrub for C-sections (Specialty Hospital, too).
Good luck!

I graduated this year from TN technology Center at Jacksboro.... It was a very good school, and I would say the one in Elizabethtown is just as good.... Good luck on a hard year in school....

I am applying to TN Tech in Elizabethton. Is it hard to keep a full-time or part-time job as a CNA while going thru this program?
