  1. That's too funny! Dr. Box delivered my daughter, my family had a big laugh when they found out his name. Also there is a Dr.Dre, it always makes me think of the rapper.
  2. Just wanting to talk with anyone who has graduated from the Northeast state, Walters state Nursing program. From what I understand, the general courses would have to be completed at Northeast and then I would have to transfer to Walters State. I wanted to know how difficult it is to get into the nursing program, and if most of the nursing classes are at Northeast or Walters state. I'm in Johnson City and as far as I know this would be the closet place to get my Associates Degree in Nursing. I have heard mixed reviews about the four year nursing program at ETSU but I haven't personally talked to anyone who graduated from the Northeast/Walters state partnership.
  3. This family really freaked me out. The mom said every child had a "buddy" to help them, and that she was the baby's buddy until it was weaned. They seemed like nice enough people and can provide food and clothes for their kids but their house is run like a small, Christian boarding school. I also thought it was very sad when they all asked the girls what they wanted to do when they grow up. And every single one said they wanted to have as many children as God would give them. Or they wanted to be a mom of 15 kids. Not one mentioned going to school, or having any type of career. It just seemed like a very cult like and unusually sheltered life. I feel sorry for all those kids.
  4. Hi everyone I'm new to the area I'm 21 yeras old and currently live in Johnson City and I'm interested in getting my LPN but I'm having trouble finding schools in my area. Anyone who could please suggest nursing schools in the Tri-Cities would be of great help! I would love to eventually work in L&D but I'm not sure what if any involvement LPNS have in my area in L&D/ postpartum care. I have heard that some states allow limited postpartum and nursery care while others don't use them at all. Any information you could give on either of these question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!!
  5. I am 21 years old and very interested in a Career as a L&D nurse. Since I was very young I have always been fasinated by pregnancy and childbirth. And after much thought I have decided to go back to school to be an RN. I am almost positive that I would want to work in L&D. I'm curious as to what influenced you to be a L&D nurse, and are there any steps I can take to prepare myself for this while in school? Thanks!!
