Anyone on here applied to or got accepted at Duquesne/Allegheny School of Anesthesia?

Yes, I will be attending. Super excited but a little worried as we will be the first class. Looking forward to meeting classmates soon!

I wouldn’t be too concerned! The anesthesia program is unchanged and will continue as it always as, just in conjunction with Duquesne. The program is “new” to Duquesne, but they are only responsible for the DNP-core aspects of the degree.

Hi was the program super competitive to get into? My GPA Is a 3.5. I’ve been applying and to no avail. I feel defeated.?

Better GPA than mine. Get good letters of recommendation, get involved with committees on your floor, and most importantly know your *** for the interview. Know mechanism of action of drugs you use, waveforms of swann caths/a-lines, and other CCRN related questions in detail. During the interview they want to see how you react under stress so try to stay calm and be honest, don’t pretend you know something you don’t.

Anyone have any info on the interview? Anything would be appreciated thanks best of luck to you all

Hi has anyone interviewed with this university?

Same interview and director as the former program partnered with La Roche

For those who are currently enrolled in the program, how do you like it?

I was offered a seat in the 2023 class, but am apprehensive about the hybrid model, and was curious about current students experiences. Thanks!

Can you tell me more about what you mean when you say hybrid model? Are all the lectures online with no face to face learning? Thanks in advance (:

During the interview they explained that the anesthesia classes offered directly through Allegheny will be in person, while the Duquesne classes will be a mix of desynchronous and synchronous courses through the school of medicine and school of nursing, with eventually some in person classes through Duquesne as well. So, was curious how people felt about the hybrid of online, in person and across multiple institutions.
