Hey all!!!

Just want to make a forum for the Duke Nurse Residency Program. Applications are open now, and will close Feb 28th 2016.

Good luck to all! And keep us posted here!!

I sent in my app, and it has changed to "forwarded to hiring manager". Has anyone else had that change?

Hello all!

I'm going to be a May 2016 grad, and I was wondering how long it took after you applied to hear back? It can be pretty nerve-wracking waiting to hear!!

my interview is next Tuesday the 9th!!! for cardiac ICU and Surgical Trauma ICU, so so so excited. Good luck to all

Hi MDeva1,

I applied on a Thursday and heard back that Monday. When did you apply?

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU.

I applied Jan 27th and heard back within a week. I also live in Cali, so maybe that's why.

Hi guys!

I'm new here and have an interview for Feb 26th for unit 4300.

Excited and terrified all rolled into one!

~Alexandra

Hi Alexandra! What unit is 4300? And are u local to NC or will be relocating?

- Ray

Hello Ray!

Unit 4300 is the Adult Medical/Step Down Unit. Im currently living in Western Massachusetts so relocation is a must (obviously!)

I was actually really excited to see you are living in the Bay Area, I was born and raised in SF and moved to the east coast for school. Missing the Cali weather and people like crazy!

Really hoping for Duke as this would be such an amazing opportunity, do you already have a job?

Hey Alexandra,

I have a shadow and interview this Monday in the CTICU. They sent me some info for reference & degree verification and benefits, but idk if that gets send to everyone. Did you get that with your interview info? I hope they tell me if I'm hired, so I can pack my stuff!

Yes moving there will be a BIG move for me, but I am excited for something new! I'm really looking forward to meeting any Cali residents (or other transplants) as well. I've already scoped out the crossfit gym, coffee spots, bars and restaurants!

Good luck on your interview!

- Ray

Ray,

That's awesome that you are interviewing this Monday! Fingers are officially crossed!

Okay down to business: I did get the package about refs, benes, and what to expect next if an offer was extended.

How are you prepping for the interview?

I've started looking googling a bunch of rentals but that's about it.

~ Alexandra

Ray, im flying in monday night and interviewing tuesday so let me know how it goes! It sure sounds like theres a lot of fun things to do in the area and lots of good bars. What was the name of the crossfit gym i need to check that out too! so many nice apartments and the price of living is so much cheapter then NJ!

I got the email with the benefits and stuff too. Cant wait to get down there Monday and check out the area

Alexandra,

Ok cool. You guys got the info too. Interview prep: just matching my clinical senarios to their core values. Researching my Duke unit too.

My aunt lives in Raleigh, so she is gonna help me look for rentals. Houses are so cheap there compared to the east bay!

Josh! Dang your interview is Tues!!!!! Amazing! I'll keep you posted. I leave Tuesday am, so too bad we can't toast after our interviews. Fingers crossed for us!

Crossfit Durham is the box. Haha same prices as CA, but hey it's worth every penny. Yes everything looks promising there. I'm so excited!

Ray

Too bad we can't toast is right. Hopefully we can once we both move down there and start!
