Hi cthompson! I applied as well but haven't heard back yet for an actual interview. I did receive an email a couple weeks ago asking for me to contact them to schedule an interview asap and then received an email saying that was sent out by mistake I don't really understand how that happened but I guess it is what it is. Have you heard back yet? I'm expecting a rejection letter at this point seeing how I've not received any other emails about being selected for an interview. Anyhow good luck to you!
That is a big mistake people make- they count themselves out. A lot of the time the pool is already narrowed due to people not applying initially. But I had a 3.44 GPA, 307 GRE, CCRN, a year in Cardiac Surgery ICU, and 6 months before that in VICU Stepdown. I graduated with my BSN in 2013 from a university where I played 4 years of a collegiate sport. You walk out of the interview feeling like you bombed it. So you don't really know lol I applied VCU as well, and got into both, but chose Duke.
True. The interview is even more daunting I'm sure! Did they ask a lot of in depth clinical questions? Guess I'm just worried I won't get any interviews. I've only applied to 3 schools but if I don't have any luck this year, there's always next year. I may retake the GRE. I got a 296 and 4 on the writing but I know most schools want to see a 300. My GPA is a 3.48 and I'm scheduled to take the CCRN next month. Anyhow thanks for sharing and congrats again because getting into Duke is awesome!
allenaa2016, first and foremost congrats on getting in! I hope we are classmates next year, I have an interview coming up on this Friday. Do you have any tips or recommendations of things to study in the next few days or how to best prepare? I did try to PM you but have not posted enough to do so. I sincerely thank you for any advice and hope we are in classes together next fall :)
