Duke Fall 2017

Did anyone else apply? I applied to the MSN program. I met the Dec 1 date for my application, but I'm worried because I haven't received any verification of my application being complete or under review. I emailed admissions the other day, but haven't heard back. I will be calling in the morning.

I just had my interview! I think it went well! I hope yours went well too, LT!

Glad yours went well! I felt pretty terrible about mine. I definitely let my nerves get the best of me and my interviewer didn't seem interested. It was so short, like 15 minutes. Ugh

I am sorry to hear your interview went that way, the faculty I interviewed with made it a comfortable atmosphere which lightened the stress and my nerves. It is unfortunate your experience was not similar. Was this the only school you applied/interviewed?

I'm so sorry that was your experience FL.RN! Maybe the interviewer was just having an off day? Or maybe they didn't have a lot of questions based off of your essays and application. I hope you still get in! Don't give up hope yet! Did they tell you all when we might hear about decisions? Mine said possibly around the 10th. Did you hear the same thing?

I had my interview on Monday. I left feeling really disappointed because I didn't expect some of the questions like "tell me about a time you broke a rule at work, who you told and how you handled it", and another one was "tell me about someone who doesn't like you at work and how you deal with that", and the follow up question to that one really killed me ... "how would that person (who doesn't like you) describe you in three words?". My interviewer was really stiff the entire time and I could not get a sense if I was doing ok or completely bombing the entire thing. This was my second time applying to duke. Last year I applied but got waitlisted to interview. I'm from NY and got into a state school back home last year but declined my offer to reapply to duke for fall 2017. I was accepted to that school again but am desperately hoping to get accepted for the ACPNP program. Hopefully I'm not the only one anxiously checking my email every 5 mins even though I know decisions aren't released until mid-March the earliest í ½í¸¢

I'm so sorry to hear that others didn't feel good about the interview. I'm sure you did your best. I felt like my interview went well. The faculty I interviewed with stated that decisions would be made "quickly". Of course, her definition and my definition could be completely different. LOL!

What program did you apply for?

They told me no later than March 13th, they said everything has been behind because of a software issue and they are sort of in a time crunch.

I applied for FNP. Anyone know the class sizes?

Someone I know who interviewed for FNP was told around 30.
