Duke ABSN Spring 2018

Hello!

I haven't seen any threads yet about Duke's ABSN program for Spring of 2018 so I thought I would start one to chat with other hopefuls like myself!

Also, if anyone who has previously been accepted into the program, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! For now, I have a few questions:

- Does anyone know if they weigh all parts of the application equally?

- What is their acceptance rate?

- Any good tips for the personal statements? I'm finding that it's very difficult to articulate why I want to be a nurse without sounding cheesy.

- Where else are y'all applying?

I thought we wouldn't hear anything until after Duke Days?

Last year the cohort was informed of a decision June 21st and the two years before that it was by July 9th (from what information I can get from previous threads). I'm hoping we will follow the same trend!

Thanks for looking that up! I also snooped around on the Fall 2017 thread. They found out on April 4th, which was the Tuesday after the second Duke Days event. If that pattern continues, we would get our letters closer to August 1st.

Hey y'all!

Could someone who is going to Duke Days ask about loan repayment/tuition assistance if you work at a Duke facility after graduation? Or does anyone know what the policy is? I can't seem to find a direct answer on the website.

I feel like someone asked about this during the interest meeting a few months back. I think they said that the Duke hospitals would have more information on that.
