Hello!
I haven't seen any threads yet about Duke's ABSN program for Spring of 2018 so I thought I would start one to chat with other hopefuls like myself!
Also, if anyone who has previously been accepted into the program, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! For now, I have a few questions:
- Does anyone know if they weigh all parts of the application equally?
- What is their acceptance rate?
- Any good tips for the personal statements? I'm finding that it's very difficult to articulate why I want to be a nurse without sounding cheesy.
- Where else are y'all applying?
I think that's all for now! I look forward to chatting with everyone!
Hi Everyone!
I applied to the Duke ABSN for Spring 2018! I am so nervous!!! I have been very anxious waiting to receive an admissions decision but I feel confident going in with a high GPA. The Duke Days invitations should be going out soon. Last year Duke Day invitations were sent out June 21st for the Spring 2017 cohort. I am nervous applying because I'm younger then the normal candidate, I am graduating with my BS in 2 1/2 years rather than 4. I don't know if my age will work against me :/
I am also applying to Johns Hopkins Masters Entry into Nursing.

Ah okay!! So we should hear back sometime in the next couple of weeks. I still have one class that finishes on June 20th so I hope I get a chance to send in that grade!
