Hi all,
Just wanted to see who else has applied to the Spring cohort...and is waiting for word of an interview etc. The waiting part is the hardest for me.
Also, does anyone know of any other ABSN programs out there that are opening up a Spring cohort?
Thanks!!
Ok, so you might be right and I might be in denial, BUT.... I thought this reimbursement policy wasn't on the website anyway. I thought they offered 10K in loan forgiveness to other employees and this 49K deal was specifically for Duke ABSN grads. And didn't they just up this deal this year anyway? I guess we could always check with Fin. Aid because they probably would know. I really want to go to Duke so this better not be true! :)
I guess they are really making us wait until the first week of August! I guess in previous years they let people know along the way...is anyone hiding an acceptance out there or are they doing it differently this year?
On a different note, I went to Carolina's BSN open house last night. The legislature hasn't let them know what the budget is so they aren't sure how many spots they will have for Jan. They anticipate 40 ABSN, 64 BSN. I am not sure which school I want to go to anymore. Carolina sounds really competitive as always. Anyone applying to Carolina too? I can't get a feel for their program- the admissions officer said it would be hard to do the ABSN with family. Anyone have any advice or know anyone who has gone through the program?
Still waiting too. Some interviews are being done till the end of this week, so first week of August is probably the earliest they'll send notice, but not sure.
It seems like we'll be finding out all at once? I expected it to be the same as Fall, but guess not.
Has anyone sent in the scholarship applications already or plan to?
I have to go out of country to a funeral this and next week...so I wont be able to keep up. I hope to hear good news when I get back! Good luck everyone :-)
My heart sunk when I read that they discontinued the reimbursement policy! No one can actually confirm that that's true, right? I'm happy to hear that they promoted that policy at the latest Duke Days. That leads me to believe that it's still around for the time being.
I'm applying for Fall 2010 and I hope the policy is still around by then! While I love the program, the campus, and the whole triangle area, I have to admit the reimbursement policy is the reason why Duke is my number one choice!
Hello! I have also applied to the Spring 2010 ASBN program. My interview was July 10th. The waiting has been SO stressful. I just want to know already. But thank you for letting us know that they are meeting today and will have a decision this week. I figured it would be this week, since they said the first week in August. Does anyone know how they will let us know?? Phone, email, or letter??? Well good luck to everyone. Hope I get good news this week!

That reimbursement policy must have changed in the last week then- it was on the slides Fin. Aid showed during Duke Days.
