Duke ABSN Spring 2010, anyone?

Hi all,

Just wanted to see who else has applied to the Spring cohort...and is waiting for word of an interview etc. The waiting part is the hardest for me.

Also, does anyone know of any other ABSN programs out there that are opening up a Spring cohort?

Yay! I am so excited that people are starting to find out about acceptance. I will also be joining you all at Duke this Spring! Congratulations to everyone...maybe we should start a new blog about housing, preparation, etc.?

I think that would be good. There is a Yahoo group for accepted students (those that have accepted the offer) but it is a little confusing since the Fall class is also in it. I wonder if we would be allowed to start a Facebook group to start getting faces and names together. Congrats! I am really excited for the Spring. I am praying everything works out with my Fin. Aid. :)

Does anyone have an idea when classes begin for the Spring 2010 cohort? Beginning, middle, or end of January?

So I spoke with Eric Graham about the calendar and he sent me the following links, saying that DUSON follows the same schedule as Duke.

it seems as though the orientation is Jan. 11 for 2010.

Congratulations to everyone that is accepted into the Spring 2010 class!! I too will be attending Duke's ABSN program in Spring 2010. I actually knew back in May that I was accepted into the Spring 2010 class. I originally applied for Fall 2009 and was waitlisted, but then withdrew my application for Fall 2009 because I found out I had to have major knee surgery and there's no way I would've been able to have enough time to rehab following it. However, they said that if I couldn't be considered for the Fall 2009 class they would keep my application open and consider me for Spring 2010. Ironically, after a long and challenging 3 day hospital stay following my surgery, I got the email the same day I came home from the hospital with the acceptance news (just what I needed)!!!

I agree that we should create a group for those who have been accepted so we can chat about things. I know I will definitely be looking for a place to live, and I'm pretty sure looking for a roommate as well, since I will be moving from New Hampshire. Hope to keep in touch with everyone!! I'm soooooo excited!!! :)
