DUKE ABSN Fall 2012

Published

Hi all!

Just wanted to start a thread for the people applying to duke for the fall of 2012. I am super excited/nervous to be filling out the application! I know that there are others out there feeling the same way. If anybody is willing to comment I would love to hear from some people who have applied, accepted or denied, or applying right now, or even going to apply in the future. :)

cool thanks. yeah i figure that some people dont have facebook and others are waiting on other schools but since im a second rounder i hope not many more confirm before then.

You guys are the best. :)

I think it's actually 17 members b/c two of the 19 people work for Duke (they're listed as admins). Not that I'm counting or keeping track of it at all... ;) I will keel over if it hits some super high number (like 60+) by April 2nd!

yeah i know i hope that it stays around 20ish maybe 30 at the most. haha. wishful thinking?

I imagine it'll probably be clearer after (or "if"????) people get financial aid offers

oh yeah i forgot about those. AHHH.

financial aid awards just got mailed out...any comments laflaca did you get yours? is that what made you officially accept?

yeah seriously don't feel bad about being on here all the time, i check it everytime something pops up in my email which is ALL the time, i sort of like it one here

LOL poodle, my email just binged and I just got on... I'm so weak. ;) Are you happy with your fin aid package? That was pretty speedy!

Nothing here yet....! Refreshing email obsessively!

@poodle5: Duke was my first choice, but I was waiting to see if I got a big happy surprise from my other school (Yale). Got very little from Yale and so accepted at Duke. I liked Duke better, and figured I wasn't going to do any worse financially even if I got zilch there.

added: oh wait....poodle, financial aid info is sent by email or regular mail? why am I suddenly unable to remember this important detail?

I got it via email, the financial aid was about what I expected. Although there is a little (6,700) need-based scholarship, and then other than that, its various forms of loans. Not to say I am complaining about any scholarship...I'll take it happily and gratefully. I would accept Duke in a heartbeat, if I knew how things would pan out with my husbands law school transfer, in fact its increasingly likely that I am going to have to lay down the $500 either way, because I won't know until later in the summer.

I haven't heard anything about financial aid yet either laflaca.. tomorrow maybe??

ha maybe its because you in the running for a scholarship? not to get your hopes up ...but maybe?
