My med surg instructor used to get on my case about that. It's "medications" not "drugs."ANYway, for those of you who have taken the test...how many medication questions did you get. I am REALLY bad at memorizing them so I plan to study them but don't have much faith that I'll do well. I'm using Saunder's and I get less than 50% correct on the medication chapters

Any advice from those who have taken this horrible exam, designed to stress poor nursing students to death?
Out of the 75 questions, only 3-4 of the ones I had were meds.
If I were you, I would focus on the Saunders sections w/ priority, delegation and infection control. Those seem to be the biggies.
Medications are a down fall of mine too. Before taking the NCLEX I mad sure to know common things...........Ace inhibitors usually are the -pril drugs, beta blockers are your -olol. Know certain food interactions (ex. what not to have with MAOI), how long do I have to be off of a MAOI before starting a TCA? Things like this..........also drug levels, some common ones are dig, dilantin, lithium........and so on, let me know if I can help you anymore.........Good luck!
