what drug to use?

I have a quick question here. What drugs can a doctor perscribe for a patient who is allergic to Penicillin? What I am trying to ask is, what other antibiotic rather than Penicillin can a patient take if he is allergic to Penicillin?

I think the cross-sensitivity issue has to do with the type of reaction one has to PCN (or any other drug for that matter).

I also think you might get more complete responses from pharmacy-type folks!
