We started drug cards today and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on how to write them without overloading them with information.

Our teacher just has us list:

The med name/generic name

Dosage

Side Effects

Drug to drug interaction

Nursing Considerations

Simple and to the point

Mine consist of brand name, generic name, classification, nursing interventions, and side effects.

Specializes in Critical Care, ED, Cath lab, CTPAC,Trauma.

Therapeutic outcome

Uses

Dosage (ignore IV)

Implamentation

Serious side effects (mainly those concerning the CV)

Drug/Herb to avoid

Food to avoid

Nursing consideration

Our cards are a hot mess. Thank god we only get six a week.

Greetings.

Attached are 12 Word documents which I made when I took pharmacology. All the information was based on the ATI study guide since that constituted the final exam in our class.

They are formatted as 3x5 cards and were printed on individual 3x5 cards.

Have at 'em if you think they'll help... they certainly worked for me.

Again, they are entirely my own creation based on the information out of the ATI book. I make no promises as to their accuracy (though I rocked pharm so they couldn't be too bad).
