Drexel University Fall 2020 MSN-FNP

Nursing Students NP Students

Published

Hey everyone! I wanted to start a thread to see if anyone else has applied to Drexel University for the MSN programs. I have applied to the FNP program, finished the app in mid January and am anxiously waiting for a response.

Anyone else waiting on admission decisions? My GPA was 3.2 so I am nervous it will be too low to get in. Hoping I get some good luck!

Also, if anyone is in/has completed drexels program, what is your advice for balancing work and school?

Thanks!

I was accepted to the AGPCNP for fall 2020--I got the email yesterday!

That’s awesome! I’m still waiting when did you apply. I applied late I feel like.

My app was complete Jan 24--- I was told any apps complete by end of Jan would be reviewed in 4-6 weeks. It seems like they do these in chunks. The final deadline is June, so you are definitely NOT too late.

I'm currently in my 2nd year of their dual peds primary/acute NP program. I'm married, have 2 kids, and work 40 hours per week and have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA. It is all about carving out the time for school work where you can. In the first year, all the courses are unsynchronized and you can work at your own pace, but the courses are broken down into modules with set assignments and testing dates. In the first 1.5 years all NP programs take the same courses and it breaks out in the 2nd year by specialty. It is hard work, but doable. If you applied in January, you should hear back April/May timeframe.

Hi RNbannanie, I have also applied for the course for 2020. Same course as yours. I have finished the application in jan 2020. My GPA is 3.36 with 14 years of experience in peads icu. I still haven't heard back from them. So bit nervous . Can you share some course insight , as how is like to do .

I got accepted!! I'm very excited. Waiting to hear if financial aid will offer me anything but doubtful that they will

Did any current students receive any aid through the university?

Hi guys!!

I'm looking into acute pedi np at drexel... can any of you give me any insight into the school and how the programs online are faculty etc ?? I know this is a thread for FNP but id love to know more about the school, education quality and how they treat their students! Thanks!!

@jessaaro Have you heard back about your Drexel app? People heard back as late as May from my cohort. You can PM me for any details about the program. Your credentials seem perfect for the primary/acute. I know our track director is really picky about who she admits and having ICU is a must for her. Other acute care programs do not require ICU. I want to say we started with about 20-24 dual peds students, not sure if anyone dropped out. Good luck ?

@ RNbannanie Thanks for your info. Yah I just got selected for the dual program. I cannot message you don't know why. May be I don't have rights yet. It's nice if you could give insight of the course. Also how difficult is it to find preceptor. Iam in Florida. Thanks again

@ RNbannanie I would love to chat with you about the dual program. I'm hoping to apply for the program next year and I'm really interested in building network for other that are going through the program now. I hope that is okay. I tried to join the FB just for networking reasons. I'm excited to start this new journey in the near future.
