Drexel University ACE Spring 2011

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Anyone out there has applied or is applying to the ACE class beginning Spring 2011? Anyone waiting to hear from admissions for now?

Does anyone know how many students they are accepting for the class?

They requested my Spring transcripts - I emailed Tina Heughs yesterday and she said its now complete and pulled my file for review. I cannot take the not knowing!!!!

What are some of your other options if you do not get into Drexel?

I did get accepted, but I'm still trying to decide if I am going. My other options would be junior colleges in Southern California (Associate's programs.) They are way cheap, but you have to wait your turn for a 2 year program. I would be able to start Fall 2011 a 2 year program. I could be halfway done at by then! But I'm weighing pros/cons. It's a risk for me to quit my job and my husband's and move across the country for this program...

Hi all! About how long after your application was complete did it take to find out whether or not you were accepted to the program??

To answer your question, it took a few weeks, I applied and then about a week later sent along my transcripts, then within two weeks I heard back. I did give a call over however to see if my transcripts arrived, and then they reviewed my application that day. It seems to vary for everyone, though. Good luck, I hope you hear back soon!

I received my acceptance letter June 10th and the pre-req stuff on June 17th. Does anyone know if they accept CLEP exams?

How many prerequisites did you have completed when you applied and were accepted?

I had completed all except A&P II, and apparently I still have to take English 101 and Computer Apps.

I had all but 3 prereqs completed. A&P II, Nutrition, and Developmental Psych.

They do accept CLEP exams for some classes, but I would call and find out the details.

I spoke to Peggy Breslin today and they do accept CLEP but she said she does not recommend it because a lot of people fail them. I don't think English 101 will be too hard and it's sooo much cheaper to take the test than an entire class.

Has anyone applied to other accelerated programs and got accepted?

I was also accepted to UMDNJ's accelerated program for the fall semester and now I am confused about what school to attend.

Drexel was my first choice, but the fact that UMDNJ starts in the fall is very appealing.

I fell in love with Philly and Drexels' Nursing School when I visited during the info session, but i'm starting to get anxious about moving to philly.

I'm really confused

I was accepted to NYU's accelerated program for this fall as well, but I decided to go to as soon as I found out I got accepted. Even though it starts in the spring, it's a lot shorter and cheaper than NYU! AND, I fell in love with Philly when I went to visit a couple weeks ago. It's an amazing city! (Granted you stay around the safer parts, that is ^_^)

Anyone started looking for places to live yet?

I want to move up to Philly in January to take a Biology classes (to finish up some other work I was doing) and to get acclimated to my surroundings.

I want to find a place this summer as apartment hunting is so much easier in summer than it is in Jan. Since I will be travelling Aug-Dec, I've really want this squared away by the end of July. Even if I don't move in until Dec or Jan I would at least like to put in my application and sign a lease.

I have two cats who are well trained, so I have to know I have to look early.

Anyone fins anything?

I have been looking on craigslist and they have loads of available apartments for great prices (in nice neighborhoods too)

Many of the apartments accept small dogs and cats as well!

Good Luck on your search!!!
