Anyone out there has applied or is applying to the ACE class beginning Spring 2011? Anyone waiting to hear from admissions for now?

Since the program starts during the 2010-2011 school year I think you should apply now. Hope that helps.

I applied last week and assume my transcripts are arriving now. This is my second attempt applying to . I applied for Fall 2009, but I didn't have a lot of my science pre-reqs done and they lost my transcripts so I was late in applying. But I'm hoping for the best this year since I got mostly As and Bs in the pre-reqs!! Good luck everyone!

Yes I applied a few days ago and sent my transcripts along. I've heard it can take as quick as two weeks to hear a reply, but that it also depends on individual circumstances. Good luck to everyone!

I applied back in March and still have not heard anything regarding a decision except that my application is complete.

Same here, Paco. We'll hear, though.

I also applied for Fall 2010, but did not have any science prereqs completed by the time the term was closed.

I have reapplied for Spring 2011 and I am really excited. My spring semester transcript was just mailed out to them, so hopefully I hear something within a few weeks.

I still have A&P II, Nutrition, and Developmental Psy to complete. I am currently taking all 3 during this Summer I session.

Good Luck everyone!!!!

Important question..sorry if this is silly..Do I file for FAFSA *now* even though the program isn't till next year?

I'm pretty sure you would not apply for your FAFSA until next year when you get your tax info. If you apply now, it won't hurt, but you will have to redo it again in 2011.

The Spring 2011 term is in the 2010-2011 school year, so I would have to assume that this current FAFSA is the one that needs to be completed. Best bet is to check with the school but I am pretty sure this is the one we need to complete.

I agree. I applied for 2010-2011 FAFSA.

Yes you should apply for FAFSA now. The 2010/11 application is available

I'm resending my transcripts now and hopefully will hear a decision soon! I applied for Fall but didnt have enough science courses completed. Taking AP II, chem and lab for micro now so hopefully ill be set for spring! crossing my fingers. i also think that the fasfa does need to be completed for spring, I'm doing the same.

Has anyone spoken to a current ACE student? I've emailed with someone in the program and she said it's crazy difficult, which is definitely exciting! Just curious if anyone has heard positive/negative feedback...

Hlelstone, one of my acquaintances went through the ACE program last year and graduated. She actually recommended me to stay away! She says its very intense without any sympathy. You must maintain very high grades and test scores throughout the program, pass skills checkouts and pass the HESI exit exam all before you even take the NCLEX! From some of the other forums I've read, it says that it is a very difficult program (hello, you're signed up for 20+ credit terms!) but it's doable if you put the work into it (my friend said she studied 8 hrs per day) and are a very dedicated student. I guess up to a 1/3 of ACE students drop out or are kicked out before graduation. I'm very nervous, but I've heard that even the junior colleges here in California are difficult and that you are required to keep certain grades and pass tests (i.e. get 90% on them) or fail the program.

Does anyone else have any feedback? I'm nervous to move across country and spend $30k+ and potentially fail out of the program.

Eloradannon,

I've spoken to a couple of people who have completed this program and gotten similar responses. The one girl I talked to actually took two years to complete the program because she failed one of her tests and had to take the course over again, and pay extra money. But then I talked to another girl who did the program in the time allotted and passed her tests, and is currently working at CHOP, and loving it.

Its a very hard program with a lot of pressure, however, what I've gotten from the information I've heard is that it's doable and you have to go into it knowing what it requires, and willing to do the work, and to put the rest of your life on hold, which is the hardest part about it. Apparently you do have to study all the time, weekends and nights, and the classes are intense. They don't hold your hand and you have to be your own advocate. I'm really nervous about it too, especially because it is a lot of money on top of loans from college I already have, but if other people have done it, then why shouldn't we be able to? :)

I've also heard that can be disorganized when it comes to matching your transcipts with your application and often lose your transcripts, has anyone experienced this?
