I just received letter of acceptance. I will be in Drexel's WHNP online starting Sep 16. I do plan to work full time as long as I can maintain. If it become unmanageable, I will reduce working hours. I plan to reach out to my advisor regarding registering for classes. I'm assuming we will have the same classes in the beginning and then branch off into our specialty specific courses next year. I do not know of anyone in the program or anyone who have completed the program. I have looked on facebook to see if there were any groups established. I did not see any. Anyway, I am excited and nervous all at the same time.
I am starting the primary care adult geriatric NP program at Drexel this September. I am cutting down to per diem so I can handle school and family obligations. I know of people who have gone through different programs at Drexel, some NP and some other tracks. But I do not know anyone else who has completed the track I plan on completing. I also looked on facebook but found no groups Maybe we can start one?
Hey Guys,
Yes just registered for classes this morning. I have one contact from an old job who was in the program a few years ago, I will reach out to her and let you guys know what she says but from a mutual friend I got a kind of "overall a good program" type of answer from her. No other feedback or advice. If you guys are interested in starting a Facebook group outside of the drexelone dashboard forums I am sure we will all soon belong to, I will create it today. Will name it "Drexel University MSN FNP Online Sept '16 start" I think Sweet&Petite is right we all probably start on the same track at first. If you want to search and join just message me I can probably everyone an administrator.
As of right now I work full time 36 hrs max/wk on a rotating schedule in the ER which means my boss is allowed to put me on back to back day to night shifts. He also does not let you just "drop" hours when you want to. So I am nervous about working full time but my only obligation outside of work and school is my boyfriend. I actually have an interview in the infusion center services dept for a part time work interview next week but that also makes me nervous d/t the hours dropping as low as 20/wk.
side note* I live on the island of Kauai (born and raised on central coast of NJ) so the cost of living is outrageous. I wanted to avoid using my financial aid as much as possible.
I will be starting the FNP program at Drexel in September. I will be staying at 80hrs a pay for as long as possible. I do know people who managed maintain 72hrs a pay during the entire program. They all had good things to say about the program, no major issues. RunnerNurse09, I did Drexel's Accelerated BSN program.
Hey ladies I think it would be a great idea for us to create a facebook page. I did my BSN online and networking was very beneficial for our group. We had students in all different parts of the US in different time zones but we managed to keep in contact.
Also, I purchased my books at textbooks.com because they were cheaper than B&N. I bought new books because I like to keep my books and wanted to make sure they had the required access codes. Be careful with that. I saw a lot of cheap ones on various sites but the seller didn't guarantee access code.
I'm impressed with the communication we're receiving from the advisors so far. This is a good sign

Anyone else attending Drexel's MSN FNP online?
