How do you like it?

I am starting the primary care adult geriatric NP program at Drexel this September. I am cutting down to per diem so I can handle school and family obligations. I know of people who have gone through different programs at Drexel, some NP and some other tracks. But I do not know anyone else who has completed the track I plan on completing. I also looked on facebook but found no groups Maybe we can start one?

Option 1~ so many pros! Local, most affordable tuition, they provide clinical placement AND you could start working as a FNP. All of these are excellent considerations. I looked into USA because I was accepted. So many threads here had the common complaint of "disorganized" and "too much self teaching" (recorded lectures were not provided). Yes, it is online curriculum so obviously there will be self teaching, but to have no powerpoint or lecture available at all rubbed me the wrong way. Just something to consider. Good luck!

@tibbymc, i am registering for classes on Tuesday. I am in the AG primary care track. Can you recommend any professors for 500 and 502?

Thanks for getting back to me! I really love the mostly online format. I am actually expecting my first baby too, so plan on cutting down to per diem if I can. Their 100% pass rate is amazing and one of the factors that drew me to Drexel.

I was just accepted to my first choice nurse practitioner school (Drexel University). Anyone attend one of their NP programs? I am looking for feed back. I am so excited I am accepted. Thank you!

I found out a couple days ago I was accepted to the program! I am surprised since I live on the east coast, but am very excited. I am waiting to hear back from other schools before I make a decision. Anyone have any info about UTMB or their program? I would love to hear feed back from other students.

I have been in the ER for almost a year & am ready to get out . I am applying to NP school & may stay on as PRN but not full time.

You are over thinking. Even if this job offer didn't come through (hypothetically), you have experience and will have opportunities elsewhere. I would echo the previous poster about saying you are just looking around & make a mental note to avoid sharing any more details.

I would do nursing home if you like geriatrics. I was going to go that route but they offered me a supervisor role because I was a new graduate BSN. I didn't feel comfortable taking that role as a newby, so I decided to pursue a hospital job. Go with what you like.

My experience is similar. I went from a big city with 15+ hospitals to a small community hospital in a different state. I used to complain about my city hospital being an academic teaching hospital and the craziness of July 1 until I went to this new hospital that has no residents and only 1 doctor on the unit (I work in the ER). In my experience, the community hospital does not have the resources to improve because they are in a small healthcare system that serves a broad radius. Look for another job and really do your research about the hospital, or setting. The beauty of nursing is that you have options.
