Dressing for CNA School Interveiw

  1. Is it okay to wear jean to your appt for nursing school?

I have my appt. to start nursing school tomorrow through the Red Cross - very nervous and not sure what to expect or how I need to be dressed. Also, I have one tattoo on each one of the tops of my ears, should that effect my interview or any advice on covering them?

No jeans, no flip flops, no spaghetti straps top. Nice slacks with closed toe shoes, nice conservative top. I don't think the tattoos will "affect" your interview but you can tell them you're willing to cover them up for work if they need you to. (And if you're ok with it of course). No crazy hair or makeup either. Good luck!

all I have is jeans... and guess I will find out tomorrow, appt. was rescheduled. Thank you for the response and the asking, I don't have anyone to talk to about any of this except a 7mo. old, lol! Nervous about the Jeans- I believe all I am doing is turning in my collected paper work and state vouchers, they call it an interview but think I'm already in considering I passed the TABE (12.9+), did all the required, and received my state vouchers today- I'm on K-Tap, so maybe the jeans won't be an issue, I hope...

When I was flat broke I got some interview clothes at a thrift shop . . yep. Guess you don't have time for a shopping trip but it's good to have a standby outfit. If you have to wear jeans wear your nicest pair, maybe with a belt and plain colored top, conservative jewelry, all neat and clean, try to relax and smile and you should be good to go! Best wishes!

I agree. You can get a nice pair of slacks for $3 at a thrift shop or at goodwill. No crazy prints on a top please! Try to do a solid color and not crazy platform of clubbing shoes! Best of luck!

I know and that is my usual "mall" but as of right now I don't even have $3 dollars- not a sympathy thing- sometimes that's just the way things go and I plan on working my hardest to never be in such a situation again! Thank all for your support, calmed my nerves a bit!

I'm gonna retract that last statement, between my car and change cup I got this! My appt. is between 9-4 plenty of time to show up the way I should! Now just need to get to bed...

okay- so I tried to get to thrift store this morning but they didn't open till later then I wanted to leave, so I just decided to be me and the interview went great! My new scrubs swallow me but I was told not to worry about my tat ears - said they were small and I had such a shinny personality they would probably go unnoticed! Now I will cover them for clinical's, just to remain on the safe side!!! Start training Tuesday!
