Stuck in Ceil Blue scrubs no matter where I go in my facility. We can be creative with our warmer jackets. CNAs wear burgundy scrubs. I used to work in a facility where you could wear any colour or print. I used to enjoy looking for unique colours that looked good on me that maybe no one else had!!! Oh well, you can't have everything.
Good luck in your new dept.
I start at the Cleveland Clinic August 22 and they require all white scrubs...so no buying cute scrubs for me. At least I can get the flared cargo style pants in white and hopefully I can add a little bit of color to my tops by getting embroidery done. I'll have to see if that's allowed.

One facility I work at - all solid colors. They prefer blue (navy or ceil) but will take anything that is all solid colors w/no prints.
2nd facility - anything goes (for now). We are going at the 1st of the year to navy/white combo for RN's, teal/white combo for LPN's, burgandy for all CNA's. No one else is allowed to wear scrubs except for staff involved in direct patient care. Everyone else will have to wear polo's with matching scrub pants and/or matching pants. Polos will state their department name, their name and the name of our facility. Each department is color coding their polo shirts - like X-ray is going to be red....Pharm is going to be navy blue....lab is going to be black. PT/OT is thinking bright blue, etc.....This is to help patients tell the difference between housekeeping and the nursing staff (or that is what they are telling us).
In our hospital uniform is by area, or floor. In Er our base color for nurses is navy blue. I have both blue and black pants-my scrub tops are all variations of blue or match my blue scrub bottoms. Not everyone adheres to this policy, but I think we should if only to make it clear who is the nurse.
Our secretaries wear turqoise, our clinical technician wear hunter green, nurse externs must wear blue bottoms and either white or pale colored tops, our radiology is blue and white.

We can wear whatever we want. I usually try to stick to solids. Sometimes I will wear a hoodie - but only at night. I feel kind of unprofessional wearing a hoodie but it gets chilly. If I don't have a hoodie then I will wear those yellow isolation gowns. I had two confused little old ladies compliment me on the yellow gowns, haha.
I also don't usually wear scrub tops. They sort of look sloppy on me. I prefer solid colour fitted long sleeve or short sleeved t-shirts.
And, I love my rainbow collection of scrub pants. So comfy and I never worry about ruining them because scrub pants are so cheap and durable.
I work in ICU so the hospital provides ICU and OR with the hospital green scrubs. I personally love them. Theyve been washed so many times in the hospital system so they are super comfortable, and I dont have to think what im going to wear. I prefer it that way. They are the most comfortable ones even compared to the ones I had to buy when I worked on the floor.

Just curious as to what the dress codes are for y'all. I am moving from one unit to another soon, and I have to purchase new scrubs because each dept. at my hospital has a "unit color". White is always acceptable, pants must be solid, tops can be solid or print as long as the unit color is dominent. My current color is lilac (regular purple for the men). My new unit's color is navy. It's pretty frustrating. Travelers are not required to abide by the rules (although they are encouarged to), and I am just sooo envious of the nifty scrubs they wear to work.
