I am a student in a LPN program. I am considering quitting b/c of the drama. We have this group of people who keep running to the instructors about everything/everyone. They even make up stuff because they don't like some people. The school just eats it up and punishes the innocent people. I have heard that one girl might get dropped from the program b/c of the lies told about her. She can't prove or disprove any of it. I feel bad for her. I don't want to be on their hit list. Are all schools like this?

my school has some of the gossip but not anything that bad

! can you avoid the people that are causing the problem? i would do my best to stay out of it.

Stay as far away from the troublemakers as possible. Go to the instructor with any concerns if they start in on you. You are paying your tuition and have a right to unrestricted access to your education. These people are hindering you and, if you wanted to, you could bring legal action against them or the school. But, yes, you can expect some measure of the same thing elsewhere.

Welcome to the World of Nursing!!!

It only gets better...LOL!!!:D

Thank you all for the advice.

caliotter3 - What kind of legal action? I didn't know that I could do anything about it. I wonder if that girl could bring legal action against them too. I just found out that the school has been riding her pretty hard about things she claims to have not said or done.

Usually the mention of an attorney brings results. We are not allowed to give legal advice here except to advise you to seek legal advice. But think about it a minute, you are paying for a service, and these people are interfering with your right to obtain that service. A talk with an attorney would be in line if the school personnel do not remedy the situation.

Thank you caliotter3. I will consider this option.

Be careful though. Start talking legal action at the school and you will find yourself a target for sure.

I won't mention it unless I'm brought into the mess. I wish I could tell that girl at school about this but I don't want to be mentioned to the administrators.

If a school expelled me on hearsay and gossip... they would be hearing from my lawyer
