Dr. Ribner- Lessons learned treating ebola patients in the U.S.

Nurses COVID

Published

This video was shot on Oct 8th, not sure if anyone saw this. Dr. Bruce Ribner medical director of the serious communicable disease unit at Emory, talks about lessons learned with ebola in regards to the 3 patients they have treated (prior to the 4th pt Vinson). He discusses their metabolic abnormalities (Na, K, Mag), enormous third spacing, hypervolemic, and their enormous output of body fluids. He said they learned a lot from these patients. Very interesting and informative if anyone cares to view.

Thank you.

Some of what he said I had imagined including severe electrolyte imbalance.

I learned a lot I hadnt even though of.

I think this information should be available to nurses and physicians.

It is good to know Ebola patients requiring mechanical ventilation have recovered.

Thank you.
