Douglas College Psychiatric Nursing 2013

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone out there applied for the fall 2013 intake of psych nursing at douglas college? Or if you were accepted to the previous intake what your preferential score was? I just got mine today and I got a 12/20..Not sure if it will be enough to get me in or not:(

I have applied for the September 2014 BPN at Douglas as well, but am wondering if anybody has any information on 2nd year direct entry into the program? I have all of the courses from the 1st year except for the philosophy course. If I am accepted do I just wait around for a year until I can enter the 2nd year? If anybody has info that would be great!

If everything I calculated works out correctly, I should have 12 points. I have also completed the first year except for bio 1203 which I'm currently doing. As star lite mentioned, if I am accepted in the September intake I hope I won't have to wait around for a year.

Does anyone know when we find out our score? Does it get posted on mydouglas?

I think once you are accepted for the sept intake you start in September,

No I think you go directly into 2nd year. The info that I have is that I went to an info session and I have the psych nursing booklet.

I have also applied for the BSPN program for Sept 2014. I should have 14 points. I spoke to the admissions officer and she hopes to have everyone scored by the end of Feb and to offer the first set of seats to the program in early April. I have taken all of the psych courses for the program, and all university electives (I have a prior BA), so my first two semesters I will have 1 and 2 courses respectively. I was hoping to take some of my 3rd semester courses in my first year to even out the course load but a friend in the program said it may not be doable--that they like to keep intake groups together...

Even though I have the first year completed? I can start second year in September?

I think so. but call and leave

a message in these two numbers

604-777-6405 for *****

and for the psych nurse coordinator it's 604-777-6436

Well, if you take the philosophy course in 2nd year, it's an extra course..so Not sure if you would want to do that? My hope is to take some courses from 2nd year with my first year to even out the course load

How many courses does one take per term??

like holy look at year two of the BSC program, there are like 6 courses.

Does one really take 6 courses per term?

I know:/ they recommend not working because of the course load. No summer courses though. I have most of my first two semesters done so I'm going to see I can take some 2nd year courses in 1st year to even it out.

how do people who don't live at home with parents manage to get by in the program =0, but good on you for having most of the two semesters finished.
