i dont wanna be a nurse

Published

So apparently I'm not the only one! I feel soooo much better. I graduated with my bsn in 2003 and never took the boards. I know, why right? Well I guess I listened to everyone else and not myself. I did fairly well in school but that was a long time ago! What I wanna know is, what other jobs are around that I could use this degree? I'm open to all kinds of suggestions. It just seems like such a huge waste of time/effort not to use this by going into something that relates or involves the education I've received. So PLEASE!! HELP!! I NEED DIRECTION!! If anyone has ANYTHING they think would help, reply ASAP!!:idea:

What about working in the OR?

Definitely take the NCLEX. Get your license. You will have more opportunities with it than without it. You would prob be a nice match for legal nursing.

You may want to apply your nursing skills and education by working in a law firm. What you learned in nursing school would be invaluable to plaintiff's lawyers handling personal injury or medical cases. Most lawyers don't know anything about nursing or medical issues and you could be a very valuable asset. While there are legal nurse consultants, it would be so much better to actually have someone with the training working in your office. If you decided to get a paralegal certificate, you would be that much more valuable.

As some of the other posters suggested, I would take the boards. It gives you the extra credibility.
