ok. so, ive been trying to get this job at a nursing home for alil over a month, right when i graduated i went to tlk to them. they have made me come in four time for interviews, 2 with the same person and the last two with the same person. and then the last time i went in i took a drug test, and i passed, and then they said they have to send off my back ground check, well i just got my lvn last week. the board does a background check. why are they having to send off a background ck? so now im supose to start ortientation tomo and they call me and tell me that my background ck is not back.i went in for my interview on last wens, its been a week how long does it take, i feel they have just been throwing me around so i dont go and get another job,,,, does anyone know why they are doing this, i had to call them yesterday bc of my school and i had to change my schedule all around to make it tomo and they know that. does anyone have any advise?

I've had background checks at 2 of my 3 jobs so I don't think it is unusual. FWIW it can take months to get from the interview to orientation. Not saying you should put all your eggs in this basket just that in my experience it isn't odd. Good luck.

Seriously, healthcare organizations have to do extensive background checks in order to meet Federal requirements. These are normally conducted by a 3rd party who specializes in providing this service. The time requirement can vary depending on the expertise & resources of the company that is doing them. It'll be Ok in the end.

Don't freak. I know it's hard but they are just going trough the process. You will start with the next round of orientees. Be grateful for the job it sounds tough out there. I'd just be patient.
