Hey all! I am starting this thread so that we can all post and talk about our acceptance to Dominican University of California's School of Nursing (BSN program)!
:) I lol'd haha. Dominican wants their deposit by may 1 so I'm sure you'll hear from them soon. I'm so confused what to do. I definitely don't wanna be in school for four more years I've already been at csueb for the past two. I haven't heard back from the other schools yet so I'm not sure if I should give Dominican their deposit. I'm not sure if I should just finish my last two years at csueb then try to do an accelerated program or just go to nursing school now. I don't really understand why Dominican's wait is so long. Are you gonna go to Dominican for sure if you get in?
I am not sure, it is very expensive and like you pointed out waiting at least 3 semesters to start doesnt sound too appealing. My first picks are SFSTATE and CCSF, domincan is more of a fallback along with CSM. I have been applying for 3 years i dont think I can handel waiting another year just to start my classes :/ but we shall see!
Has anyone else gotten an acceptance? Volleygrl89, have you heard back yet? I got my financial aid package, and it's quite generous! I just wish we could start sooner. But given the fact that no jobs are available now anyways, it might be to our advantage to delay starting a little bit until the economy picks up again. Still waiting to hear back from SFSU, SJSU, and CSU east bay.
I received a phone call last week stating that I got accepted into Dominican's nursing program. My packet was received today in the mail as well. Still undecided if I should go to Dominican because of the long wait... I'm still waiting on CSU Sacramento, CSU Stanislaus, CSU Bakersfield, and Samuel Merritt though.
hello all,
I too was accepted for Spring semester 2013 and was on a 1.5year waiting list for their BSN program. Dominican is a beautiful unversity but be aware that it is very expensive and if you are on their waiting list by the time you graduate you would be in at least 100k debt. A 3 unit course like a religion course (which you have to take by the way) will cost you about 4500. Because it is a private school, they have the right to raise tuition anytime they want and they have done so recently. I do believe that if the financial aspect of this is not a problem for you then by all means go for it because it is a great program. Congrats to all who received acceptance and I wish you all the best.

I know :/ I was really excited when I got the news but now reality set in. The shortest amount of time is 3.5 years the longest 4.5. I've already been in school for two years at CSUEB as a pre nursing major and I'm just so confused/stressed on what to do!
