Dominican College ABSN / WABSN program 2020

Hello everybody!

I recently applied to Dominican College WABSN 2020 and would like to meet current applicants, current or former students. The weekend program is very convenient for working adults, that is the main reason why I chose it. However, there are no reviews about this program, I would like to read about others experience and thoughts about the school/nursing program in general.

Everybody is welcome to this post, let's share our experience through this process.

I think if I remember correctly from past forums most decisions were sent around the 2nd-3rd week of December. Good luck to all of you! Hope to hear that we will be in the same cohort!

I didn’t receive anything either. I don’t know why it’s taking so long

So I applied after the deadline. It was my fault in years past and speaking to other students it was always a rolling admissions. I should have seen that they updated it but I just assume and am kicking myself for it. But I did get accepted into the program but for May 2021 :(. Not sure how this is possible. last year I had applied to the weekend program but couldn’t start it because of family obligations. I guess because they had all my transcripts it was faster. But apparently there is no more space left for the class that starts May 2020 I’ve been told. I received I package in the mailed.

I still haven't received anything in the mail. When did you get the mail?

I am not sure if I should be worried or not if I still didn't receive an admissions letter for may 2020. I applied in October before the deadline.

Yes I did get a letter dated Nov 25, 2019 indicating an official acceptance.

Congrats! Did they move your acceptance to the following year?

Do you mind sharing your stats like for your prerequisites and overall ?

SO you applied after the deadline and still got an admissions letter.

I am not sure what this means since I still haven't received an official admissions letter.

So the entire package had documents on vaccination information, tuition reimbursement policies, if I needed to take a challenge exam, a checklist of my prerequisite courses and what year I took them..etc. but I noticed that at the top of the checklist it said May 2021 start date. So I emailed and was told it was for May 2021 even though on the dc portal it states May 2020-May 2021. I can only be upset at myself for this. I was really hoping for this coming May.

Sure I don’t mind. But maybe because I got my bachelors from Dominican college it had something to do with it.

so I have multiple transcripts Since I have taken at least 1-2 semesters worth of undergraduate classes after my bachelors so I don’t know what my overall gpa is

gpa: 3.3 straight out of college (physics got me ?

Post bac gpa : 3.7-3.8

all my pre-reqs- are either A- or in the B range
