I saw this after surfing the net. Press release 01/12/2011

The Department of Health (DoH) today announced that applications can be filed starting next week, January 17, for its project where unemployed nurses will be deployed to poor communities in the country.

"the project, billed RN heals, seeks to make essential health services available to all Filipinos by training and deploying 10,000 unemployed nurses in communities to be identified by the DoH in collaboration with the department of social welfare & development (DSWD),"

Health secretary Enrique Ona said.

Rn Heals, an acronym for registered nurses for health enhancement and local service, is expected to address the shortage of skilled and experienced nurses in 1,221 rural and unserved or underserved communities for one year.

"eventually, these nurses will be part of the pool of competent nurses for later employment or absorption in health facilities, thus addressing the inadequate supply of skilled nurses and increasing the nurses' employment rate," the health chief concluded.

I am just curious why there were different protocols from the BLOGS I am reading. Some are asking requirements as posted by DOLE some are not. Imagine the RN's who applied ONLINE and hope and expect that DOLE will do their part of providing a LIST of names who will be shortlisted. I must say that this is a commendable project by DOLE but it seems it was planned half baked. DOLE lacks compliance on their promises. They don't have the LIST, they don't even have a process as to how they are going to shortlist 60 RN's who applied ON LINE. Is anyone from DOLE reading these BLOGS? It is just frustrating that after doing my bit of following the instruction from DOLE, where did it lead me?

it's already February 9 and they don't have the final list of successful applicants yet..tsk tsk tsk!!!hey DOLE, wake up! seem like you're not doing your job!!!

Hello When was you interviewed ? I was only interviewed once last week feb 3 until now no response from them

well hope that DOLE will not prioritize those RN that has relatives working in DOLE..thats what I've heard lately....

I did not receive any email or call from DOLE. Does it mean I was not chosen for rnheals??????????

Specializes in Emergency room; Medical-Surgical.

My friend who just passed the licensure exam recently was already in their list. The DOLE Orientation will start tomorrow till Saturday. She select the municipality of Rizal.

HOw bad I wasn't even emailed or called by DOLE wherein I already have 7 months hospital volunteer experience. Now I'd like to protest!:(

@calamarifries

may i ask if you and your friend applied for the same municipality?

i would say yes there just too many applicants i was interviewed but did not make it on the list ;)

yeah but i think the PADRINO BACKER system was implemented in this program Ive heard that relative's, friends and acquaintances of the PESO manager in each city was hired.

I wasn't even called even though I have volunteered in a Tertiary government hospital for one year:crying2::crying2::crying2:...I wouldn't be so shocked if they selected those who backers..too bad:hpygrp:

@calamarifries

They're not very much particular about the work experience. I know a lot of people who have prior postgraduate experience that were qualified for this program. Maybe your friend was chosen instead of you for some reason other than this.

Some people from DOLE claim that the shortlist of applicants was based on whoever gets to apply first. So we should expect that those who applied last Jan 17

were the ones considered for a slot. But I don't believe this. I know someone who applied on the last day and was qualified for the program. She's a daughter of a prominent politician. I also know someone from DOLE who has nieces and nephews who are RNs (one of them my best friend), and were all able to secure a slot. Coincidence? I hope so.

so sad....I wasn't on the list they posted...it's so unfair if all those who have backers are the one who has been chosen... what about us??? grrrrrr:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
