  1. really?or is this just another press release to make them look like they are doing their job?! i don't think it is really implemented coz there are still a lot of trainings going on in the hospitals...tsk tsk..its all just in the papers! i also read in the newspaper a couple of weeks ago that the government will hire several thousand nurses but until now nothing happened...and how come its not posted in the DOH website????? Nurses, please if there are still false volunteer training programs out there please report it to the DOH and let's see if they would really put an end to them...only then can we know if the DOH is serious about eliminating these false volunteer training programs...let us all unite and put an end to nurses exploitation once and for all coz its long overdue!!!!!!!
  2. They hire nurses based on their looks-and backers, not based on their qualifications and credentials..what a shame!!!! i'm sure it will backfire on them somehow...
  3. working abroad without any experience is a big risk..you'll be risking your license and the life of your patient...you are handling a person's life so there is no room for error...you must have enough experience first before you can go and work abroad-you are there to work, not to have an OJT..if you lie about your credentials, the truth will come out sooner or later, based on your performance and actions in the hospital, you'll never get away with it.. most employers from abroad require 2-3 years of paid hospital experience, so don't ever think that you could work abroad with no experience at all. sorry, but it's totally impossible.
  4. I totally agree. the abuse and unemployment of Nurses has been going in for many years, but the government, including the PNA is not doing anything about it..mainly because Nursing has become a huge business in our country-people are making a lot of money from Nurses.Imagine how much money go into Review Centers, IVT, BLS trainings, seminars, etc...I don't understand why Nurses have to undergo trainings on basic Nursing skills such as IV insertion/administration and Basic Life Support when these skills should have been taught to them way back in College???? Nurses spend more or less 3000 for IVT-(including the 400+ payment for ANSAP) and 5000 or more on BLS trainings..imagine how much money ANSAP makes from IV trainings! To make things worse, Nurses are forced to be volunteers due to lack of job opportunities in Hospitals. These Nurses are doing the same job as the staff Nurses, the only difference is that they are not paid- or they are even the ones paying the Hospital..What a total abuse!!! and I recently watched an interview of the President of the Private Hospital Association of the Philippines-denying that these "Volunteerism" issue exist! Hello! Sir, you must have been living in a cave! Many Nurses (and non-Nurses) can attest to this fact!!! This is how bad the Nursing problem is in our country...people trying to cover up their misdeeds-and obviously the Government does not give a damn about it!!! Unless they do something about the Nursing crisis, more and more Nurses will be unemployed or underemployed. More and more people would rather live outside the Philippines than stay in a country that cannot provide even a basic need-such as a decent job to its people....
  5. hmmm...Is it near the Lung Center???? please let us know!!!:uhoh3:
  6. I agree:D.....you can't expect everyone to have a backer or to know every single person working in the hospital that you are interested in:uhoh3:...job applicants should be treated equally and they should be hired based on their qualifications, not based on who their backers are:lol2:..It's totally unfair that someone with a backer will just have to sit and wait for a job to land on his feet- not going through a mind-boggling exam or a nerve-wracking interview, while a poor applicant without a backer will have to shed blood, sweat and tears to get a chance on his dream job:madface::madface:...We all know that the backer system is deeply rooted in our society, but it doesn't mean that it is the right thing or it is acceptable, because whichever way you look at it, it is soooooo wrong!!!!!:madface::madface::madface::madface::madface:
  7. I wasn't even called even though I have volunteered in a Tertiary government hospital for one year:crying2::crying2:...I wouldn't be so shocked if they selected those who backers..too bad:hpygrp:
  8. it's already February 9 and they don't have the final list of successful applicants yet..tsk tsk tsk!!!hey DOLE, wake up! seem like you're not doing your job!!!
  9. yeah, I haven't received any reply from DOLE yet.I read in today's newspaper that 58,000 nurses applied for this program and as we all know, only 10,000 nurses will be hired..hmm.. makes me wonder how they screen the applications.....
  10. i'm not working at Fabella Hospital bacause they don't have any vacancies yet, unfortunately:sniff:..but they promised us that we will be given priority if they will hire staff nurses, since we were already trained in their Hospital..I'm hoping that they will keep their word and that they will not hire those who have backers.. the backer system is very prevalent especially in government hospitals...it's sad, but its the ugly truth.. and it really makes my blood boil too!!!
  11. I volunteered in Fabella Hospital for one year..they prefer to hire those who have been trained in their Hospital..
