I saw this after surfing the net. Press release 01/12/2011
The Department of Health (DoH) today announced that applications can be filed starting next week, January 17, for its project where unemployed nurses will be deployed to poor communities in the country.
"the project, billed RN heals, seeks to make essential health services available to all Filipinos by training and deploying 10,000 unemployed nurses in communities to be identified by the DoH in collaboration with the department of social welfare & development (DSWD),"
Health secretary Enrique Ona said.
Rn Heals, an acronym for registered nurses for health enhancement and local service, is expected to address the shortage of skilled and experienced nurses in 1,221 rural and unserved or underserved communities for one year.
"eventually, these nurses will be part of the pool of competent nurses for later employment or absorption in health facilities, thus addressing the inadequate supply of skilled nurses and increasing the nurses' employment rate," the health chief concluded.
Hi.. I'm from Region 7. I am totally diappointed at DOLE's fales expectations. DOLE should be ashame of themselves. This is a conspiracy and such an unprofessional manner they've shown to everyone! If they could not post the list of successful applicants online (just like what they've promised), they could have at least stated in the website that they're experiencing heavy volume of backlogs thus the reason why they really cannot provide the list yet... OR.. they should've provided other options and encouraged applicants to this instead like contacting the local DOLE for each region for updates. They ought all of us a sicnere apology and explanation. We, Nurses, spent time to process this and made several follow ups at the local DOLE department. They're paid to do their job, so they must do their part. When I went to our local DOLE office, they just told the applicants to check the final list online (it's been a week now) but NOTHING's THERE but they kept on saying the same old line... and the great thing about it is, they were all just eating bread and chitchat with each other at as early as 8:30 AM! ***** I thought they're busy creating the final list???? DOLE should set the right expectations to all applicants.... I will go to their office today one more time, if I still get the same answers, I'll have this televised at once! this is too aggraviating and frustrating.... This is NOT fAIR at all... they should also provide us with their criteria or basis for qualification, so that if ever applicants dont get accepted, at least we could review our credentialas and match it with their qualification in order for us to be aware of what we lack and if there's a room for dispute...
hi! i am here again, full of disappointment from DOLE's RN HEALS project. How do they screen the applicants? why they did not give chance to all the applicants? My mother blames me for not being accepted at that whatsoever project by our government. I could not answer my mother'r query about why I was not hired at that RN HEALS, because i do not know how they screen the applicants.
I am so disappointed and losing hope about my nursing career. =(
I am angry, disappointed, and depressed.
