Does St. Anthony's Train CNA's?

Hello, I'm a pre-nursing student interested in training as a level 1 PCT beforehand. Most hospitals in St. Louis don't seem willing to give me on-the-job training, but based on a job description I found at St. Anthony's Hospital, it seems like they do.

If you work at this hospital, do they really train PCTs there or is previous experience required for the position?

Don't know about St. Anthony but SLU hospital does.

Not sure if they still do but St. John's does/did, that was really the only way to get a job. There were those that were already medical assistants but were required to go through the 6 week training and then pass a test to keep the job. Just apply online for any PCA job, typically they will interview you and then if you are picked you would start one of their PCA classes.

I am a CNA at St Anthonys and we do indeed train in hospital for CNA and it is a 2 week program that teaches basic vitals, foley care, baths, cpr, bls and more.

How do you get into getting trained? So, St. Anthony's does train you to be a CNA?

Clarification St. Anthony's DOES NOT train for CNA.

You must go to STLCC for CNA training, you can attend out program if you are an employee and we will train you for a nurse assistant posistion (no foley care), and you can practice for 1year and challenge the CNA exam. However the state requires you practice for one year in an acute care setting before you can sit for the challenge. The exam costs - not sure how much.
