Ok I've put it off but I need to decide!
Does this sound too hard???
I'm taking foundations of prof nursing and intro to pt care across the lifespan.
That doesn't sound too bad since it's not medsurg and pharmacology yet.....
I'm taking neurobiology as well. It's a 400 level course for seniors who completed gen chem 1 and 2 only, but I got faculty permission and have had the teacher before for other bio classes.
I'm also taking an women's studies online (gen ed requirement)
In addition I work 20-30 hours (dog walking/sitting = easy) and have mandatory volunteer (I know that makes no sense. My school requires a certain number of hours of volunteering and reflection essays to graduate)
I also have a music lesson class for fun.
I can switch neuro to an easier but still 4 credits plant bio class. It has a more convenient time and I'd be off fridays. But I want the neuro! Unless it's going to be too hard with nursing. What do you all think please?
Btw I'm a slow writer. A 300 word essay can take me 2-4 days. Not because I procrastinate I just have trouble putting into words what I want to say in papers.
Oh also I didn't take gen chem 1 or 2. I had a survey gen chem class which combined both in one semester, I also had a survey class of organic and biochem. They were tough for everyone in the class but I put a large amount of time in and got A's in both.
It's just...up till now I've taken only my bio courses and gen eds. I put so much time in them. I'm a little nervous now to think of adding the nursing classes in. I can cut down work and drop the music class but still. When I took genetics, theology, survey chem, music lessons, and us history last semester..I didn't have time to spare then. How will I with nursing classes that everyone on the forums say you will no longer have any time with?
But I really want you guys to say "this is so possible!" but I want the truth too haha. Thanks.

Is this your first semester of nursing classes? If so, I'm going to advise against it.
The time I spent taking 12 credits in nursing school was way, way, way more than 12 credits of other stuff.

I would definitely not recommend it. I was a straight A student taking 18 credits of pre-reqs, and absolutely killed myself for a B- in 6 credits of nursing during my first semester of core classes.
Thank you. Not my first nursing class but first main ones (forgot to include I had medical terminology online last semester also, and this summer in the required prenursing class which is mostly reading journal articles, writing, and learning about the fields). But fall will be my first clinical. It would only be 15 credits but given the 400 level you guys are probably right. I'm pretty disappointed because I'm interested in neuro and like chemistry and this professor's teaching style.

Drop the music course for now and get your music fix in your free time. Music is something you can always take up again, in and out of formal lessons, and do recreationally in the meantime.
Otherwise, since you have already demonstrated a remarkably good ability to keep a lot of disparate balls in the air, I'd say keep the neurobiology course until the drop-add date approaches and see how it goes. If it looks like too much, convert it to an audit and you can keep going for the joy of learning without the pressure of assignments and testing. You can always learn more later.
Your writing is pretty good. Don't sell yourself short there. I'd bet one or two sessions in the college learning lab or whatever they call it would get you going in the right direction on essays and the like. You will have to do a lot of papers for nursing so being more efficient there will help you keep all those balls up. :)
Good luck! Let us know how you're doing!
Thanks GrnTea! I appreciate the advice (about the writing lab also).
I like the idea of auditing neuro if it becomes too hard. The one problem with dropping music is that if I audit neuro plus had dropped music I'll be under full time credit needed for financial aid/scholarship. The fundamentals, intro to pt care, and women's studies will be 10 credits. Music gains 2 which would put me right at the min for full time.
Or maybe I'll drop music if I decide I can keep neuro! I think that will be the plan..drop or audit one or the other.
BTW the girl who always wanted my work and transferred in here after she found out I was has had to drop the course. So she's only in my women's studies now but I'm ready :)
