Hi everyone,
I've searched many places on the internet for the answer to this, but can't seem to find anything concrete. Just wondering if anyone knows if the NCLEX-RN has a set time period it is good for after you take/pass it, or are the results good for life?
Also, I'll be graduating this coming May and might have some things preventing me from getting a nursing job right after taking the NCLEX. Do you have to have a job within a certain time period after passing the test? The most time I'll most likely be going without getting a nursing job after taking the test is 1 year, but it will likely be less than that. And I'll be taking the test in Colorado if that matters at all.

Once you pass the NCLEX, you are licensed. You cannot take the NCLEX unless you file with your state's BON, usually when you pay for your test, hence, once you pass, you are licensed. Afterwards, keep your license current. That's it.
If you are talking about your Authorization to Test (ATT), they do expire. I believe it is three months...but go to the source: http://www.pearsonvue.com or google Pearson Vue...hope this helps as well
I was talking about after you've already passed the NCLEX, so you had it right the first time. :) Your other response is helpful too though! Thanks for the reply!!

Generally NCLEX once passed is for life however if you spend a lot of years not nursing and not maintained license then the BON can ask you to resit the exam before issuing a new license
