Hi, my friends

I am a new comer in bay area and looking for the jobs. So far so bad!!! Anyone here would tell me some lead so I can apply for it. I need to start working ASAP due to financial situation. I would like to work anywhere or facility aroud bay area.

Thank you everyone!

Hi there!!! have you started working in ASH??? How was working there? Can you give me details on working in that facility? Thanks so much

Thanks for the reply. I'll be having my PAT in a couple of weeks and I feel nervous about it. I heard SLO is a good place to live and especially Morro Bay.

Letdsunshine,

I received a call to interview in mid Sept at Atascadero, and I was wondering how long it took from the time you interviewed to receive some sort of notification and to take the PAT? I've read on other posts about the whole 3 month process, but was wondering if things are a little different with the "hiring freeze". Good luck on the PAT!!

If you guys love hot weather Atascadero and the Fresno Area are places to go.

For new grads: I would suggest that you try to apply in some forensic psychiatric hospitals. I tried everything from working in a nursing home to a medical clinic before I landed a job in a state hospital. I never imagined I would end up here but it was worth it. Medical hospitals won't hire me because they think I'm just a new grad. That is why I am thankful that even with no experience in hospitals in the US they still accepted me and the training was the best so far.

VA in SF- really great salary to...

Treasurern, that's awesome! Which state hospital are you currently working for? And congrats to newgrad82 on getting into Coalinga SH. I actually have a oral interview exam scheduled pretty soon and I am pretty nervous on how to prepare for it. Any pointers on ideas and nursing concepts I should be studying? Also, you can reach me @ [email protected]. Thanks!

I sent in my application to Coaling State Hospital and they scheduled me for an oral interview exam about three 3 weeks later... It was pretty quick.

VA hospital in SF just said they received 1200 applications for 8 new grad positions!!!

To those of you who have taken the PAT at Atascadero, how hard was it? I consider myself to be in okay shape, I exercise regularly, but am nervous after hearing that some people have failed it. Any information would be helpful!

I find it the most frustrating exams of my life next to NCLEX!!! But it was worth it and I made it! If you exercise regularly then there will be no problem. Goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi speedytopspin!! You don't need to study on anything as far as I can remember. Your knowledge of nursing is the only key to pass the exams. Goodluck!!!!
