Does anybody here have information on Nurse Practioner programs abroad (countries other than the US)? What is it like for NP's in other countries?

Hello,
I currently have a BSN. I am currently looking into applying to grad school for next year. Other NP's have encouraged that I apply for a DNP program, which I am open to. But I am also open to relocating to another country. I currently live in Atlanta, but don't intend on staying here long term. I am looking for my next home... preferably a big city, and somewhere walkable and accessible by public transit, as I don't drive.

Family/friends have recommended looking into applying to grad school in Canada or the UK. I am also open to looking into other areas. I speak some French, but do need practice. Does anybody here have any info on continuing education abroad?

I am interested in studying for an FNP degree. I currently work in the clinic setting, and definitely see myself continuing work in the outpatient setting in the future. I'm particularly interested in working in dermatology and aesthetics, but thus far haven't had success in finding a job as an injector despite having my botox/filler certification. Not sure what it would be like working in the aesthetic field in other countries either. I'm still not dead set on this field though, since I haven't actually gotten a job in it.

Any advice is much appreciated.. This is a topic I have no background information on. Thank you!

In Canada you can be an NP in either adult, pediatrics or acute medicine.

In Ontario at least you need an RN license for the province first.

How long have you been a nurse?

Hi Lucydog,

I have been a nurse for 3 years.. Out of those options, it sounds like I'd go for adult nursing.
