Do you live in New Haven?

Published

Hi all,

I am flying out to interview at Yale on the 17th and need to book a hotel room. I'll be interviewing at the School of Nursing at Yale, and wondered if you would have a hotel that you'd recommend? It seems that the Omni is the best bet so far, but it's also the priciest choice. If you have another idea for a nice hotel in a safe area, please let me know! :)

Thanks much,

Kens

Just an afterthought... I don't know how pricey the Omni is,but if you stay there, you won't need a car or cab as there is a lot around the few blocks right out your door, cafe's, restaurants,bars/pubs,shopping and you can walk around at night it's safe, there's a lot of people, also you'll be on the Yale university campus really, and can see that also... you'd only need 1 cab from tweed--about 10 minute ride,

OTOH, any surrounding hotels you will need a cab to do anything, even tho the marriot has a couple of restaurants close by it's not real cool to walk at noc..

You may also want to check out the New Haven Hotel, it's very close to the hospital and downtown as well a lot of Yalie families stay there during events.

Hope I didn't confuse you, I was just considering price vs convenience/ accessibility ;)

Thank you for the great information! I think I might book the New Haven Hotel, since the price is pretty good, and it seems accessible to "stuff" still. Over two nights, the Omni would cost me an additional $140, and I haven't been able to decide if it's worth it (having never been to New Haven before). The New Haven Hotel is also downtown-ish, right?

Thanks!

Yes,it is still close,as in even walking distance to the hospital. Just bear in mind, it is not a luxury hotel as is the Omni, you'll want to head toward College and Crown St

Thank you so much! I really appreciate all your help. I'm actually interviewing at the School of Nursing, but I believe that's not too far from the hospital. Thanks again!
