Just wondering how you are planning on staying and working in the US? If you are still looking for a employer for a visa you are aware of retrogression and that many US nurses are struggling especially in NY where according to the NY State forum hospitals are closing and many nurses experienced looking for jobs
Ok thanks! Uhmm I've thought about that too, and I think this might be lame for you, but even if its retrogression I just wanted to pass the NCLEX for the mean time, cause I want to have a sense of fulfillment in my life. I dunno what happens next but I'm still hopeful about the future though. Thanks again :)
before, NY does not need a local license to be eligible for RN licensure. now, I'm not sure. What I'm sure, though, is that a friend of mine just recently applied for NY RN licensure (she's an immigrant) and she doesn't have a Philippine RN license.
And you said you are a non-immigrant? CGNFS-CVS takes more or less 6 months to process CVS applications. So it maybe a while. I would suggest taking the NLE this December (or November?).
hi i think you dont need a local license to take the nclex here in ny
the cvs would ask you about your grades, you just need to apply and that's it
i graduated from the philippines last year and now here in new york :)
i would be willing to help, you can reach me here [email protected]
You don't need a local board..I also graduated in the Philippines. No working experience and no local boards and holding a license now in NY. You'll just gonna need a lot of patience in CVS because they really take so long. Mine took almost year just for the CVS alone.
If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know...
Hey Nesty. Thank you for posting such message...May I get your email address? Cause I might need your help in the future. Thanks again! :)

hi! this might be a common question for some but I'll ask it anyway cause I'm getting confused....I'm also a fresh graduate from the Philippines and a non-immigrant but currently in NY. I didn't take the NLE back home... But can I take the NCLEX in New York? And if so, what does that thing about the CVS asking me if I've worked somewhere before? Does that mean I have to be a registered nurse in my country before applying to New York? I'm really confused... Please help! thanks
