So I am mostly worried about my not getting into a BSN program because of my cumulative GPA. I will graduate with a bachelors degree in Human Development (concentration of Pre-Health Promotion) this semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.4. I changed my major a few times and did not start trying in school until I became passionate about nursing and realized I wanted to attend nursing school. Over the past 4 semesters I have received all 4.0's, and my prerequisite GPA is between a 3.7-3.9 depending on the classes schools require.
I have over a year of experience working as a CNA (both at a hospital and in a nursing home) and will continue working in that position until I (hopefully) attend nursing school. I also volunteer weekly at a hospital, and have logged well over 100 hours.
I want to attend a pretty competitive nursing program (UC Denver - either accelerated or traditional is fine with me).
Will my other experiences help buffer my mediocre GPA?
Pls give me some hope haha.
