I went to Borders today to get the McGraw-Hill book and saw that they were offering the basic Kobo for $99 so I grabbed one. I was just wondering if you have an eReader, which brand, and if it is helpful with ebooking your textbooks.
P.S. I realize this was an impulse buy...lol.
Thank you!

I have a Nook and it has not been helpful in the least for textbooks. I expect that later it will be different, so I will be patient.
Cool. Thanks. I was just checking out what kind of ebooks are available. Can you give me an exaple of f text book, like for A&P or Psych or English so I can see if any are available. I realize I may not be using the same books, I just want to get an idea of what may be available.

check out amazon's kindle. it comes in more than one model, plus they also offer a free pc app to download.
Hubby has the Kindle, and he loves it. I got the Kobo because it was much less expensive, adn it was right in front of my face..lol. Do you have a Kindle? And, if you do, do you use it fo textbooks?

The kindle start at $139 which isn't bad. I have a Sony ereader which I love. I did a lot of research and both the Sony and amazon kindle are probably the best choices but the kindle is definitely cheaper.

i have an Amazon Kindle. I have a drug guide on it as well as the APA publication manual that was one of my required books.
My son has the nook and he says he likes my ereader better. I would have to agree..I love this thing!

I have an iPad - which will run kindle books and iBooks. Thus far I've found a few kindle versions of NS books and apps like skyscape that run electronic versions of resource material. There are a few e versions of study guides also. I think we're a few years away from most textbooks coming in hardcopy with an accompanying electronic version. I think this will be the way things go for a while because the publishers are terrified that ebooks will put them out of business.

I see what you're saying. I don't read for fun very often because I am already reading text for my classes. I don't know what I'm going to do with this thing...lol. Already thinking about returning it and getting a kindle.
You should definitely get a reader that feels comfortable to you otherwise you wont use it. I stopped reading for a long time before I got my kindle for Christmas from my fiance. But one I got it I couldnt put it down. I find myself reading on it a lot!

I got the Kindle 3 as a gift almost a year ago and I actually used it for one of my clases.Isaved all my notes for a particular class on that Kindle (the prof. had his notes written out on Word so we could print/download it and follow along during lecture). It's helpful for following along but it makes things a little difficult when you quickly want to go back to a certain page.
