Just looking at my 155.00 A/P hardcover book.......wondering if I should cover it...will I be the ONLY one with a cover on my book? Hate to stick out like a sore thumb on day 1

Thankya!

Well.. I cover ALL my books. Don't we pay enough for these books? I want mine to stay clean and last a long time. Another plus is when textbooks circulate in the class because so many fellow students didn't bother bringing theirs, mine sticks out like a sore thumb. Its easy to spot.... so yeah... I think I am the only one...and people mock me....and I don't care. :D

PS I guess its funny because the only person covering his books is a grey-haired 40-something guy :lol2:

I too covered all my books. I bought clear sticky/type covers at walmart. They worked great and you really couldn't tell they were covered. Plus, the covers remove fairly easy when I sold them back.

I say go for it! Who cares! In fact, now you've made me think twice about it. Maybe I should cover my books too! :wink2:

I never have, but there are those really cute material ones now days. LOL :)

I thought about covering my books but I always hated doing it when I was in high school and all so I still don't do it now. If I keep it away from the kids than it stays in the same condition that I bought it in.

No I don't, but then again I seldom carry the books to class. Most instructors lecture from notes and I read my books at home. But if I were to carry them, then I would. Be comfortable with whatever you decide. Many students buy the books and never open them, but they usually don't do well in the class. :wink2: Another tip, find students in the classes you plan on taking next quarter and offer to buy their books. Many times you can buy them cheaper and give them more than the bookstore buy back prices. (What a scam that is !) I just bought two text books for $20 from a student that would have cost me $85 used at the bookstore. $20 was what they were going to give him so he sold them to me instead.

Yup, I made an old-fashioned grocery bag cover for my $150 A&P book. I take classes online but I had visions of my son or dh spilling something on it and my strangling them. So for their own safety :D I covered it.

It's very retro looking. :lol2:

I use the old paper bag cover on mine too! :chuckle

My dad used to cover my books for me with old Winn Dixie bags. Every time I see it I get taken back!

I used to use grocery bags! So much more cheaper and I always liked to draw on them.

I never cover my books. I always hated covering my books when I was a kid.

I've never seen anybody at college to it either. :twocents:
