DNP-CRNA OLOL College 2017

Published

Hey,

is anyone applying to the DNP-CRNA program at OLOL college for July 2017?

No, I haven't received one. But I'm assuming since I didn't get an acceptance, that's the only other alternative. I kept checking my email all day Friday. I was so disappointed, as I REALLY wanted this program! So sending notifications out on Friday does allow us to lick our wounds over the weekend lol.

@S.Bird -- I know I am very disappointed as well. I know of only one person who has gotten a denial letter so was curious to see if there were others.

A denial email or regular post mail? I haven't checked my mailbox in a while. But there can't be any good news in it at this point. I'm only applying to one more school. I was trying to stay put for my recommendation letters. If I don't get accepted this year then travel nursing it is.

Denial email! What other school if you do not mind me asking? I applied to lsu and twu too. If i do not get in that is my exact same plan lol! Already been looking into travel nursing.

If I don't get accepted this year then travel nursing it is.

Seriously? There's over 100 anesthesia programs in the nation. One is bound to take you. Don't surrender so easily.

@ RN,BSN,CCRN I didn't apply to TWU, but a couple of my friends did. I am still waiting to hear back from the University of Maryland. I went to a campus visit at Duke this weekend and was so impressed by the faculty and facility. I am going to apply even though my chances are slim to none. Everyone there seemed so talented and genuine, both staff and students.

@ICUMAN I really appreciate your words of encouragement. In no way am I surrendering! I couldn't imagine myself doing anything else as a career at this point. I have been working towards this for 3 years. My gf who is also a nurse has been supporting me throughout this entire journey. She has wanted to pursue travel nursing since we graduated. Since then, three location moves have been made to care for higher acuity patients, transfer to CVICU, and finally to learn pediatric CVICU. As I mentioned earlier, I chose to stay in one city rather than travel because I needed to establish strong relationships with my potential recommenders. She has wanted to start travel nursing since we first graduated. She has waited on me this long, so if I am unsuccessful this year, I can most certainly begin to uphold my end of the compromise. Of course I will reapply in future cycles, I just will be doing so from somewhere new every 13 weeks with my honey :)

I did not get in :/

Hello everyone currently I’m working toward my undergrad but really would love to become a nurse anesthetist in the near future. I’m aware that 1 year of icu is required before being accepted. Those who are in the program or has already graduated could you please give me some tips or advice?

Specializes in CRNA.

Study, your GPA is important and you need a strong academic foundation to build on once you’re in a program. Prepare financially by minimizing debt and maximizing savings.
