If anyone could help me find more info on the other publishing companies that work well with the Excelsior courses I would really appreciate it. I am getting ready to take the next step towards my RN and would be thankful for any advice I can get. Excelsior sounds like a great way for me to go since I work weekend nights in my current position and am mother to 2. I am sooo tired of daily trips to the college and the intense schedules that one has to keep. Please help this fairly new LPN find her way to a better income and further education. THANKS!
Please help me to find out more about rue, istudysmart, collegenetwork, and etc. I need all the help I can get?!
I've purchased some study guides and some of the text books recommended by Excelsior from eBay. I saved a lot of money and I'm very pleased with the purchases.
BTW, I just found out i'm pregnant. I wonder how many exams I can take before October 1st. LOL The money saving tips are coming in more handy now than ever. :)

You can buy all of your study guides on eBay for a third or less of what you'd pay the publisher and you're not locked in to any particular one. I started off using Chancellors and have used College Network, too. They are very similar (many study test questions exactly the same and the same as ones on the real exams) and I have gotten all A's so far, studying about 3 weeks for each. I also work full time and have two little ones (5 and 3). It's tough, but it can be done! Good luck and God bless!
I'm not noticing many '07 posts for the distance ed program discussions....anyone out there going thru one now?
I'm due to take my PN boards the end of this month and it will be 2 yrs before I can get into the ASN program here...and that's still a 50/50 chance that I will get in-the competition is HUGE now.
I work at a hospital now and several LPN's are getting their ASN or BSN through a distance ed program and I am hearing different things about different ones.
If anyone would like to chime in, I would greatly appreciate it. I want to do my "homework" before I sign up for something.
Thanks!
