I'm weakly entertaining the idea of earning an MBA degree from WGU. I learned today, from a phone conversation with someone who handles the admissions for their business degree programs, that former and returning WGU students do not need to pay the application fee to reapply.
There's no fee to waive, obviously, so there's no more need for the promo code that waives the application fee if you're reapplying as a returning student. Just some food for thought. ?

I think it's because you don't need to reapply.

I'm in the MBA program now so if you need any insights let me know - it's been a changed format for about the last six months. And yep, no need to pay again. Now that the MBA program has OA's (tests), they also sent me a new welcome kit/camera/coffee mug.

Patten U has slightly cheaper flat-rate tuition in addition to the same self-paced style of coursework as WGU. They also have the MBA specialization that interests me (human resource development). I also like the fact that Patten has a neutral reputation due to its relative anonymity.
I thought about them as well, based on the comments on another forum. I can't remember why I decided to stick with WGU, would have to look back and see. Either way, sounds like a good plan. ::)

I learned about Patten after I'd already started the MBA at WGU. In hindsight, I should have chosen Patten only to avoid the academic incest issue. Not really a huge deal, but all else being equal (price point about the same, format about the same) it would have looked a little better on my resume.
Other than academic incest, I have no regrets about choosing WGU.

No fee for military/veterans either
FWIW, I've been done with my MBA from WGU since the first of the month. I was very happy with the education and the cost. Will it be useful for moving up? Remains to be seen, as I can't transfer out of my current position just yet. :)
