Direct Entry MSN 2020 at Columbia University

Updated:   Published

Hello Everyone, The applications for June 2020 at Columbia University has now opened. I haven't seen any new threads for this year so I wanted to start one. I am in the process of applying and half way done! References already sent their recommendations!! and an upside to this year is that Columbia University is no longer requiring the GRE. SO I am pretty happy about that!!

Good Luck!

I’m born and raised in nyc ..(work in the city lol) and I have grown to hate it. At my job the people that didn’t grow up here loveeeee it. Lol it’s so crazy how those that have lived here are sick of it ...I am so grateful to live in a city where everything is so convenient but it is crazy ...when I go visit my mom (in AZ) or when I briefly lived in jersey ...oh how I miss those 3$ starbucks drinks !! I miss the fresh air and I long for a night where I can sleep soundly

to those of you coming from other states get ready because you guys might just fall in love with NYC ...it does that to people ! ?

nyc is dope. you have every option available. as long as you have money. but yeah, if you really wanna bring your car. find a nice suburban neighborhood and park it there. not that familiar up north but the east side of nyc, long island or border line long island/queens, might be a great option to park your car at.

I think scholarship information is posted. I just got offered a $25k scholarship through an honors program. It should be posted in your financial aid portion of the application (if you filled it out by the deadline in December)

Where do you see this at? When I login I don’t have access to my application anymore. This is on the Columbia website?

Mine is not updated either. Maybe they are doing it one by one?

I just called the school. They said the financial aid package and scholarship will be out the week of feb 10.

I also was fortunate to have received the honors scholarship this morning. Yes I did get an email telling me there was an update to my account. I believe future notifications will present as another link above the one with the letter of acceptance. This was the only one I got, but I made a mistake on my FASFA and therefore didn’t get it in before the 12/15 deadline so don’t know if this is the extent to my financial aid.

Hope this helps!

I got an email notification that I had an update to my application. I logged into my application portal and selected the Financial Aid application portion (instead of the regular link where my original acceptance was posted). They had a link to an application update, which I clicked on

did you have to fill out a separate application for the honors scholarship?

Was information on merit based scholarships included in the original acceptance letters that went out?

Is anyone having trouble just logging in? Or is it just me?
