Dilemma: "course" of action to take

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Last semester I returned to college and in the middle of the semester I decide to change paths from Sono/Ultra-sound tech to Nursing. (The pre-req's are off a bit) Now I feel like I have to play catch up to get my nursing Pre-req's done in time; as I have applied for a nursing program that starts in the fall. (They are taking applications until Feb.) All of which is do-able, but there is another spoke in this wheel; I only need a speech class to get my Associates in Arts. (liberal arts)

Should I put off taking one of the pre-req's and take the speech class to get my associates now and then take the other pre-req during the summer? My only concern is that I will be cutting it too close. Will two associates really benefit me??

Or stay the course?

Thanks and Many blessings

Is this all happening at the same school? If so, I say take the prereqs for nursing and pursue that program. You're not going to be at an advantage with two associate degrees.

I would say do the same. Do you really need an associates of arts degree? Get your nursing done first then if you still have the urge to get a degree then go back and take one quick class

Thank you for responding Paco69 and Erica87 . . . you are both right. I just needed a reality check. I just really want to start nursing school in the fall. I know, I have to get accepted first. . .details (LOL)

Was feeling overwhelmed at the time: reading posts about the waiting and all the frustrations about getting in a nursing program. Not to mention the fact that in the back of my mind I am thinking about this semster's course load. But, I am up for the challenge and feel that this will be a good test for handling nursing school. For me and my family! :0)

Thanks again, I do very much appreciate you answering this post.

Blessings
