CSN Spring 2012 question
They allow trading. Wait till classes start and they allow trading online at the CSN online campus. A lot of people will start sending out mass emails for trading labs and sometimes lectures

Should I forget about nursing?
As long as you know basic math and are repetitive with all subjects then you should be okay. If your problem solving abilities are good then that's a plus too. You can always start taking the prerequisites and you may find yourself doing just fine in nursing or, not doing so great but falling in love with another subject that you can grasp. Wouldn't hurt

Warning do not go to Carrington College....
I actually almost made the same mistake. I tried for the respiratory therapist position, which I should have done more research on, and got accepted. I paid for some exam that is similar to TEAS and passed with flying colors. They then interviewed me and eventually told me I was accepted. The final step is meeting with the financial aid department and setting that up. A day before I was suppose to do that I had a death in the family. Although not getting back to the school is unprofessional you can imagine that I had much more on my mind. They finally stopped calling me and emailing about a month later. Six months later, after everything had settled down, I contacted them again by email and by phone to tell them I was interested in the RN program. I was told multiple times that someone would get back to me and they never did. I finally decided to go to CSN and get my degree in nursing from them. I couldn't have made a better decision. The tuition is about one tenth of the cost of Apollo and the program is no as competitive as you think. The program accepts about 180 students and only about 220 apply. You do have to have quite a few points (about 27 out of 34) and you should have all optional pre reqs done by the time you apply. I guess I count it as a blessing in disguise because right now the program could be shut down at Apollo and I would be out money, a career, and years of my life.

International Versions of Textbooks - Smart way to save? (Specifically A&P)
I read a bio from a person who sold international text books and the reasons he gave for them being cheaper was paper quality was not the best but it's still usable and decent. He also said that school costs a lot less in other countries so to be able to sell the books they change the cover a bit and sell them at lower costs. The students there can not afford the high prices because they only make 2 U.S. dollars an hour so they lower the prices to keep the demand high. I guess blame America for being prosperous lol?

Dilemma: "course" of action to take
I would say do the same. Do you really need an associates of arts degree? Get your nursing done first then if you still have the urge to get a degree then go back and take one quick class

Just took the TEAS exam
I just took the TEAS exam today at CSN. It was fairly easy. The most difficult subject was science. It wasn't really the science reasoning but it was the random questions about Geology. There were only about 3 A & P questions on there and maybe 3 chemistry. There is a new book that ATI put out so hopefully it is more geared to what is on the exam than just a bunch of general problems that help you in no way what so ever. Overall I got an 85% which is fine by me. Of course I would have wanted the A but I'll stick with the high B. Did anyone else take the exam? How did you guys do?

Me thinks me has been blacklisted....
Man that really stinks. You would think that would be against Union policy. Something along the lines of trying to bid for a job that a person you're representing is also bidding for. Conflict of interest? I had something similar happen except I was a pharmacy technician at the time. Unions get under my skin a bit but I won't go any further on that because people are sensitive when it comes to unions. Is there some way to prove he did that and maybe have some ammo to get your job back or are you looking somewhere else because you're fed up with them?

People in healthcare should speak Spanish, she said

Me thinks me has been blacklisted....
I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure another hospital will be glad to have you there and you'll find a job fast. It seems like the union really didn't help at all. Why was that?
